Blade drive broke, broken brush holders and intermittent turnoff. Took apart, cleaned with silicone oil, brake cleaner and air. Replaced the blade drive, need the right size screwdrivers. Normal brush replacement. The circuit card had cracks in the etches on both of the line connectors. After soldering the connectors and repairing the cracks, clippers worked well. The circuit card is weak at the connectors due the the card being so thin. Probably should replace the circuit card at some point in the future if it fails. Plastic housing screw holders were weak so I had to enforce them to get the screws tight, plastic is very thin and brittle. I suspect next time I do repair Ill need both plastic housing pieces, circuit card and whatever else wears out. The brush holder plastic screws were partly broken so I had to us small chisel/knife to break it out w/o destroying the housing, although the old brushes were still in good shape. Plastic components become brittle with use, heat and time, its plastic. Internals like the motor, switch, armature are superior as compared to the housings. Blades are very durable, light plastic hard to work with, lightweight, but not very durable. Did you find this story helpful?
